01 — Owners abroad

You own a home in the United States and live somewhere else.

The referral service works the same way wherever you live. You describe the project and send it to GlobalGate Homes, a person there reads it and contacts independent businesses that serve the area, and any that are interested contact you directly.

This page is short because there is not much to add. GlobalGate Homes makes an introduction; everything that follows is between you and the business you chose, and distance does not change that.

The same four steps, from anywhere

You describe
The kind of work, where the property is, and anything a business should know before it gets in touch.
You authorise
GlobalGate Homes to receive the request and to share the project details and your chosen contact detail with businesses it contacts. The box is never ticked for you.
We contact businesses
GlobalGate Homes contacts independent businesses that serve the area where the property is. None of it requires you to be in the United States.
They contact you
Directly, if they are interested, using the one contact detail you gave. From there the visit, the quote, the contract, the work and the payment are between you and them.

02 — What distance changes

The introduction is the same. The practicalities around it are yours.

Almost nothing, on our side.

The service does one thing — it introduces you to independent businesses — and it does that identically for an owner two streets away and an owner nine time zones away.

What changes is on your side of the introduction, and it is worth being clear about before you start. A business will need to get into the property. Decisions it cannot make for you will still have to be made. And it will want to be paid by you, on its own terms, in its own currency.

GlobalGate Homes does none of that. It does not hold keys, does not let anyone in, does not decide anything on your behalf, does not handle money, and has nobody on the ground anywhere. If you need someone in the country to act for you, that is an arrangement you make yourself — with a relative, a property manager, a tenant, or the business itself.

The same
Describing the project, saying how to reach you, and authorising the request. None of it requires you to be in the United States.
Yours to arrange
Access to the property — who opens the door for a visit, and when. Agree it directly with the business you chose.
Yours to decide
What is in the scope, which quote you accept, and what you sign. Nobody here reviews a quote or advises you on one.
Yours to pay
You pay the business directly for the work, on the terms of the contract you sign with it. No payment for the work passes through GlobalGate Homes. Separately, you pay GlobalGate Homes a fee for the introduction itself: a flat US $49 per request, and a homeowner’s first request is free. No payment is taken on this website. For a paid request, GlobalGate Homes tells you that the US $49 fee applies, and you can decline. After your agreement, GlobalGate Homes emails you an invoice, payable by bank transfer or card. Payment is collected off-site before the first business is contacted. What the fee buys.
03 — Practical points

Three things worth knowing before you start.

None of them is a feature. They are just the facts of using a site published in the United States from somewhere that is not.

  1. 01

The site is published in English and French

Use the EN · FR switch at the top of any page to read it in the other language. That covers this site. It does not cover a business you are introduced to: it writes to you in its own language, which in the United States will usually be English, and GlobalGate Homes does not translate between the two of you.

  2. 02

Support answers questions about using the service

Questions about the request flow, about correcting something you typed, or about finding a project type, in English or French. Support does not advise on building work, does not prepare or review a quote, and cannot answer for a business you have been introduced to.

  3. 03

A business may reply outside your working hours

A business that contacts you does so on its own schedule, in its own time zone, which is the one the property is in. If you are in Europe, Africa, the Middle East or Asia, that will often be your evening or your night. Give a contact detail you can pick up at odd hours, and say in your description when you can take a call.

04 — Start a request

Start a request from wherever you are.

The request flow asks about the project before it asks about you. It shows you exactly what GlobalGate Homes will receive before anything is sent.

A request sent from it reaches GlobalGate Homes wherever you live, and the last screen gives you a reference — or says plainly that the request was not sent.
